James Neale Born 30/09/1908 A keen Boxer and Greyhound enthusiast. Fought in WW2 in the Merchant Navy After he continued working for his son at Spittlefields Fruit & Veg Market in to his 80’s Irene Maude Walker (Neale) Born 18/04/1915 Loved dancing, Radio phone-ins and Sherry. The couple were married in London in 1934. They went on to have two children, Barry & Diana. They were both evacuated to the coast during WW2 The couple remained married for 62 years before James' death in December 1993. After having her two children “Renee” returned to retail across London before moving to Sawbridgeworth where she worked in her daughter in-laws’ hairdressers well into her 80’s until her passing in July 2007 They moved to Sawbridgeworth in 1980 to be nearer their children and grandchildren. They were popular and respected within their community and by the time they had both passed they had four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. You are missed Nanny Renee & Gubby. x
