Stanley Walter Game was born 01/03/1912 in Camberwell, London to Lillian & Alfred. He had a younger sister called Winnie. Francis Eileen Truscott was born 22/12/1919 in Tooting, London to Margret and Vivian. They met at cycling club in 1938 and fell in love. They were married 17/08/1940 in a Catholic ceremony in a church in Wansworth. Stanley started off work in the London Stock Exchange before becoming a Fire Fighter. During WW2 he wanted to join the RAF but was refused because Fire Fighters were needed to put out flames in Blitz-hit London. Francis during WW2 worked in munitions factories, making weapons for the Allied efforts. Post war she worked for Decca records until retirement. Her hobbies included cycling (She did not drive until she was 40) and music. She sang in pubs and clubs during WW@ to make ends-meet. Stanley also had an interest in photography and developed his own prints. They lived in Worcester Park in Surrey after they were married. Their only child, Sybil was born in 1941 in Dorking hospital, Surrey. Sybil was married in 1962, in Cheam, Surrey. Stanley proudly walked her down the aisle. Stanley died in 1969 aged 57. It is thought that emphysema was the main cause, probably brought on from a lack of breathing equipment in his days fighting fires. Francis moved to Sawbridgeworth to be near her daughter and lived til she was 94. She never re-married but saw three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was still driving at 80 although it was a famous joke that she never got out of second gear.! They are both still missed today. x
